Infectious Disease Programs
DotHouse Health provides comprehensive HIV care services including:
- Testing: HIV/STD testing is available Monday through Saturday. Testing is offered through providers during routine visits or as a walk-in service in our Urgent Care Department on the first floor.
- Specialized Medical Care: Dr. Julita Mir is an experienced infectious disease specialist who is responsible for the care of patients living with HIV. She has flexible clinic hours, is accepting new patients and speaks English and Spanish. Please call 617-740-2320 to schedule an appointment with her.
- Case Management: HIV patients receive case management to provide assistance with insurance, income and food support, housing, legal issues, and to make referrals to psychosocial services. Case managers also discuss medical adherence and sexual risk reduction, and help patients stay connected to medical care.
- HIV Pre-Expore Prophylaxis (HIV PrEP): We offer education, counseling and medication management to prevent HIV infection to those at risk. Patients can speak with their primary care provider or be seen by our HIV team.
- Hepatitis: We offer speciality care for Hepatitis B and Hepatitis C which includes education, counseling, medication management, and long-term follow-up.
- Sexually Transmitted Infections (STI): DHH provides comprehensive care for patients at risk or diagnosed with STI's. Care can be accessed in primary care or at our urgent care center.
- Tuberculosis: We provide care to patients with latent TB in coordination with Boston Medical Center. Patients are managed by an experiences team for the duration of the treatment.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Where can I get tested for HIV?
Patients can receive HIV testing during routine visits to their primary care provider. You can also be tested on a walk-in basis in our Urgent Care Department which is open 7 days a week.
Is HIV/STD testing free?
HIV testing is billed to your insurance. If you are uninsured, our financial counselors will help you apply for insurance.
Is testing confidential?
Yes, all HIV testing and records are kept confidential. HIV case management, however, does release some identifying information such as data of birth to the Boston Public Health Commission for reporting purposes.
What should I do if I want to do to prevent getting HIV?
Patients can speak to their primary care provider or go to our Urgent Care center for advice.
